Everyone Needs to Relax About Megan Trainor Being (Anti?) Feminist

By now you’ve heard Megan Trainor’s new song “Dear Future Husband,” a cutesy, catchy song about what she wants in her – wait for it – future husband. She’s received a lot of backlash about the lyrics and video, with people saying that she’s Anti-Feminist.

First of all – it’s a song, so everybody who’s critiquing something that is absolutely not supposed to be taken seriously, get a life. Second of all, are you even watching the video and listening to lyrics?

Sure, she’s scrubbing the floors in a 50’s esque themed video, but she’s also making sure that the future hubs knows how to make a proper dinner. She turns down his fancy culinary masterpieces and doesn’t accept him until he shows up with a pizza. PREACH SISTER. If that’s Anti-Feminism, then I’m guilty as charged over here.

Also, let’s discuss the fact that these are the lyrics:

You got that 9 to 5
But, baby, so do I
So don’t be thinking I’ll be home and baking apple pies
I never learned to cook
But I can write a hook
Sing along with me
Sing-sing along with me (hey)

Isn’t the above exactly what Feminists want to achieve? Bitch is working her own job so you better bring home a damn pizza after work, BOI!!!

The whole video is obviously just a tongue in cheek play on the housewife of the 1950s but who gives a crap? Maybe that’s what Megan Trainor does want. What’s it to you? Stop being concerned. I think it’s pretty obvious that Meg is taking care of herself just fine. Let her ask for some damn flowers if she wants.

I feel like I just rambled a lot. My point is – so she wants the left side of the bed….doesn’t everyone have a side!?
